We have recognised the following stakeholders who are crucial to Aston-Mansfield’s continued improvement in performance: Users; Staff; Board of trustees; Partner agencies; the wider community; our funders and suppliers .

Aston-Mansfield is committed to assured quality in its work. We use two externally verified methods to assess the quality of our work.

Investor in People:  We have been a recognised Investor in People (IIP) company since 1997 and were most recently reassessed in January 2005. We use the IIP standard as a way of assessing the qulaity of our delivery of training and development for our staff.

Social Audit: We are committed to publishing an independently verified report of our social performance through a process of social auditing. The indicators to assess the quality of service and the standards of service are defined in conjunction with our stakeholders. We use a process of interview and research with our stakeholders, assessing which indicators are of importance to each group and monitoring progress against them.

Standards of Service:  We are committed to providing the highest possible standard of service for the community, which we serve. Professional standards are under regular review as we learn from our experience. Newham and East London have suffered from chronic deprivation and deserve the best services without compromise. We have been working with the Centre for Charity Effectiveness at the Cass Business School, City University, in developing our management skills. Health & Safety Our policy is to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all our staff, and to provide such information, training and supervision as they need for this purpose. We also accept our responsibility for the health and safety of other people who may be affected by our activities.

Risk Assessment: Risk assessments are made and reviewed at least annually to ensure that where activities change, or where buildings are being adapted, reasonable care is taken to ensure that users are not endangered.

Child Protection:  We take particularly seriously the need to protect children and vulnerable adults entrusted to our care. Careful checks are made on all staff through the Criminal Records Bureau with whom we are registered. We are also subject to OFSTED inspections in respect of our work with children and young people.

Equality of Opportunity: We aim to make all our services accessible to clients. An essential component of quality of service has to do with how accessible the community finds our services. This has to do with a number of factors. We have taken steps to ensure that our premises and vehicles are adapted to the needs of those with physical disabilities and others such as elderly people and mothers with children in pushchairs.

Valuing Diversity: We are committed to employing and developing our staff on an equal opportunities basis. We recognise that people who work for us need to reflect the community which we serve. People may feel excluded from our services if they perceive that those who provide them come from a limited and exclusive background. We monitor our recruitment to ensure that we avoid unfair discrimination in our employment practice.
