Charity Walk for Peace 2017
Sunday 14th of May 2017 at 1000 Dockside, Silvertown, Newham, London E16 2QU.
We are on the look out for people to join our team on the walk and to help us raise some much needed funds for our Young Achievers Group – our weekly support group for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
The details:
·   The walk is free to enter. We are encouraging everybody to take part, by yourself, as part of a team , with your friends, family, neighbours or community group…dogs are invited too!
·    The distinctive feature of this event is that all organisers are unpaid volunteers and no administrative costs are deducted, so every penny you raise goes to those who need it most!
·    When you sign up to join us on the walk you’ll be given all the information you need to successfully fundraise for us
·     The peace walk is match fundedthis means that every penny we raise will be doubled –so whether you raise £20 or £200 your total will go twice as far!!
The peace walk doesn’t only focus on fundraising for community groups and charities in Newham who need it; it’s also an opportunity to join forces with those in our community who stand for peace and harmony and to demonstrate the unified communities of Newham!
Who are we raising money for?

YAG is a group we run a for local young people aged 16-25 who have learning disabilities and special educational needs. Our group meet every Saturday for four hours, we focus on life-skills and learning through socialising.
We aim to help SEND young people to develop their social and practical skills, building their confidence in a fun, safe and friendly environment. Many of our YAG parents have said they do not know where they would be without our help.
For more information and to hear from some of the young people we work with first hand, visit our  web page here.
