Aston-Mansfield has been working in the heart of east London for over 130 years. We deliver a wide range of community development support and activities from our two community centres in the London Borough of Newham (the Froud Centre in Manor Park, and Durning Hall in Forest Gate).

Our specific programmes include working with children and young people, and providing advice and support to new voluntary sector organisations. Newham is the most diverse borough in the country and we have a long and successful history of working with our local community.

We are entering an exciting new phase, with the appointment of a new Chief Executive, and the development of a new strategy. As part of our growth plans, we want to strengthen the Board, and are looking for a number of new Trustees, with strengths in one or more of the following areas:

  • Children and Young People
  • Health, particularly mental wellbeing
  • Finance/accounting, to take on the Treasurer role
  • Fundraising – Trust/Foundations, Corporate and Major Donor
  • Communications and Marketing
  • Local knowledge and connections in Newham

We are very keen to improve the diversity of the board, and would particularly welcome younger people, people from different faith, race and cultural backgrounds, and women.

We hold Board meetings in the early evening 6 times a year, and encourage Trustees to act as an informal advisor/mentor to specific areas of work.

For further information and an informal discussion, please contact Claire Helman, Chief Executive on [email protected] or 07788 216179.
