Playworker (Out of School Club)

Aston-Mansfield’s Little Manor Play Project is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Playworker to work in our After School Club and Holiday Playscheme. You will be responsible for the planning, preparation and delivery of stimulating play opportunities that meet the needs of diverse groups of children aged 5 – 12 years.

The successful candidate will need to:

  • have some knowledge of EYFS and OFSTED requirements
  • have experience of working with children aged 5 – 12 years
  • have an understanding of how children develop and learn through play
  • have an understanding of their responsibility to safeguard children and the action to be taken in respect of suspected abuse
  • have experience of working in a team environment
  • have interpersonal skills that enable effective communication with children and their families
  • have the ability to provide a range of engaging play activities
  • be committed to undertake appropriate training where necessary

Applicants ideally should be qualified to Level 2 or above in Playwork, CCLD, CYPW or equivalent. 

Location: The Froud Community Centre, 1 Toronto Avenue, Manor Park, London, E12 5JF

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 18 hours per week during school term-time when work is 5 days a week from 2.30pm to 6.00pm plus 0.5 hours for meetings. 39 hours a week during school holiday-time when work is 4 days a week from 8.30am to 6.00pm plus 1 hour for meetings.

Rate of pay: £10.68 per hour

Closing date: 21st July, 12pm
