On Wednesday 23rd July 2025, community organisations from across the borough came together for a free health-focused event.

Hosted by Aston-MansfieldOne Newham and Newham Council, the Newham Community Health Fair took place at Old Stratford Town Hall.

The event started with Aston-Mansfield’s Kemar (Investing in Health), who gave a warm welcome and outlined the day.

He was followed by Jason Strelitz from Public Health Newham who spoke about how we can do so much more when we work together and highlighted collaborative work such as the Joy app, the Vitamin D programme, and food banks/programmes across Newham.

We then had time for networking, with plenty of opportunities for people to visit the many organisation stalls around the room.

Organisation stalls included:

Throughout the day we also had a range of workshops including Creative Health Impact Workshop from Stephanie McKinley, Emotional Vaccine workshop on Staff Wellbeing from Hong Zhou (MBBS, MSC, MPH, MHFA) from Mile Rainbow, and a Support for Small Organisations: Funding Workshop.

Over a delicious lunch from TiffinWalli, we held a community showcase, a chance for some of the organisation to stand up and share about their amazing work.

After lunch, Pawinder S Sabharwal spoke about Grass Roots Health Programmes before another networking session.

We finished up the day with a Health in Newham update from Cllr Neil Wilson who spoke about celebrating working together and our diverse community. He thanked everyone for coming and for their continued commitment to the borough.

Kemar brought the day to a close with another thank you.

We had a brilliant time, and it was great to see so many organisations come together in one place to support our local community.
